The topic of this gallery is Road and Street signs. A big group of signs that direct and inform the flow of people passing by on the roads of the world. “This is a photography shot in Pune city, in Maharashtra, India. These are the signage boards used by road side workers to divert the traffic when they do the repair work for the road. For the same they use a ‘use diversion board’ with a single white arrow painted on the board in a specific direction. The need is that the repair work has to happen on both the sides of the road and the problem they face is that they have a single white arrow painted board which works only in one direction, but when they work on the other part of of the road the same board cannot be used. They use a chalk to draw and modify the direction exisiting arrow so it suits the purpose when they block the other side of the road. It is quite facinating how a road side worker has arrived at a visual solution which solves the problem.” By Mandar Rane from India.
