With an ever increasing, changing and competitive digital landscape, the ability to quickly yet effectively understand the needs of your users and to translate those needs into usable and engaging features and commercial streams has never been more important.
In attending this workshop you'll learn how to use straightforward UX design and research techniques to better understand your users’ needs, validate your design concepts, generate discussions, facilitate communication and make design decisions early on and fast, allowing you to make immediate improvements to the user experience of your product. Marko and Tin will introduce to you practical UX approaches and insights showcasing various tools and techniques set around the following key topics:
- Design as a business strategy (design thinking, human-centered design)
- Understanding people’s needs (user interviews, customer journey mapping)
- Content and communication (controlled vocabulary, voice and tone, microcopy)
- Design sprints (benefits, methods, prototyping, lessons learned)
With the above in mind, you'll learn how to:

- Design on schedule and on budget,
- Make critical decisions fast,
- Work collaboratively,
- Validate concepts,
- Innovate successfully.
The workshop features engaging exercises throughout the day – with plenty of time set aside for design critique and feedback – designed to allow you to openly experiment with ideas and apply what you've learnt the moment you head out of the door.

About The Experts:
TIN KADOIĆ As Five’s Executive Creative Director, Tin is responsible for leading mobile strategy, product design and creative vision, delivering innovative solutions for clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies – Choice Hotels, Rosetta Stone, Ministry of Sound, Farmigo. He founded and currently runs one of NYC’s largest design Meetups, Design First. Tin often teaches, speaks, writes, sits on jury boards, and follows his mission to further the meaning and reach of experience and interaction design.
MARKO DUGONJIĆ Designer, speaker, editor and author based in Velika Gorica, Croatia. As the creative and user experience director at Creative Nights, Marko mentors startups through to corporate customers improving digital experiences for both local and international clients. He founded FFWD.PRO, a micro-conference for internet professionals. His favorite pet project is Typetester, an online tool for testing screen fonts.
