A Community Event For Web Designers

We'll be keeping to our trademark mission, to make SmashingConf a unique, valuable and friendly event for everybody involved. We always keep a strong focus on practical, actionable learning—with speakers packing as many useful techniques, tips and tricks into their sessions as possible. We don’t care about volatile trends and we don’t believe in overnight success stories. Every success requires hard work and many failures along the way. There are lessons learned, takeaways, and problems solved.

With a lineup of 17 brilliant speakers and the best scenarios to offer you a valuable and unforgettable 1 track, 2 full conference days and 6 workshops. Our mission is to explore real-life web design problems and techniques that are relevant and applicable to your work straight away. Join us for a few special days of friendly conversation, learning and new ideas — we'd love to see you there!

Speakers

Some speakers aren’t fond of it, some speakers love it, but we thoroughly curate every single talk and work alongside our speakers to make sure it fits nicely within the overall theme of the conference. For our Barcelona Conference, we've put together a line-up that'll make your jaw drop!

Location

The home of the conference will be one of Barcelona's most magnificent buildings – the Palau de la Música Catalana – built from 1905 to 1908. It was built by the architect Domènech i Montaner and his team of associates. The team included some of the foremost artists of the age, including Pau Gargallo and Eusebi Arnau, who created the sculptures.

The Palau is a masterpiece of the Catalan modernist archictecture and represents an essential reference in the cultural and social life of Barcelona today, as well as an artistic landmark of outstanding beauty and a highly prestigious music venue.

Our workshops will take place in the ELISAVA School of Design situated in Les Rambles, one of the most famous and colorful places in Barcelona!
