Sara Wachter-Boettcher on Mastering Mobile Content Mayhem (Sept. 17th 2014, Freiburg)

Quick Overview

Ugh, content. It’s a mess, right? The VPs can agree about on what goes on the homepage, the navigation is convoluted, and the copy is always way too long. Meanwhile, you’re trying to design for multiple devices, build with performance in mind, and juggle the expectations of endless bosses and stakeholders.

Full Product Description

You have the power to change things. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to take (most of) the pain out of the content process—without slowing down the rest of the project. You’ll also learn how to use mobile as an opportunity to break bad content habits and get everyone rallied around a more sustainable, useful approach.

This workshop isn’t just for content strategists and writers, though. It’s for designers, developers, and anyone who’s sick of ending up with tangled, inflexible, outdated content. Together, we’ll practice:

  • Deciding what content you need (and don’t need) to reach your goals
  • Building a realistic plan for content into your project or product roadmaps
  • Modeling information for multiple channels, platforms, and views
  • Reworking existing content to be flexible, adaptive, and mobile-ready
  • Bringing your colleagues and stakeholders along for the ride with activities and workshops
